Education & Qualifications
Paul Fairbairn is a Performance Nutritionist and Lecturer in Nutrition & Exercise Science.
Paul’s research has focused on the effects of nutrition and exercise on cognitive function and mobility. In particular, he has investigated the impact of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and B vitamins on multiple cognitive domains in older adults. His current research interests centre on understanding how nutrition interventions influence brain function across the lifespan. This work led to him receiving a New Investigator Award from the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids, recognising excellence in early career research.
Alongside his academic role, Paul runs a performance nutrition consultancy supporting triathletes, cyclists, and runners.
